In Meg’s words, “I have passion for sewing, fashion, DIY’ing, upcycling, refashioning, design and attempting to be a fun and cool mom! I like to take things that might look hard and show how simply they can be created. Create DIY Dragon Tails for Halloween

This is one of my favorite costume ideas – DIY Dragon Tails. And you can add it onto clothes your kids already have.  I also love that you can make the tails in any color. Your kids will love to play with these tails long after the Halloween candy is gone!

Welcome to the Refashion Files!

Refashion Files

Hello! Welcome to the Refashion Files, your source for the latest in upcycled and refashioned clothing, cute DIY accessory projects and style trends. I’m pleased to be introducing Jen and this blog to you because Jen is humble, and I know she won’t do herself justice.

You know Jen from Tatertots and Jello, her creative DIY project and inspiration blog. You also know that Jen is amazing. Her unique skills lie in adding beauty to plain home decor and other items . . . she’ll try anything creative to see what happens, and her experiments are usually a success. Which leads me to this blog. With the popularity of do-it-yourself fashion and Jen’s sewing abilities, creating a resource for refashions only made sense. You may have seen her $4 Anthro inspired shirt, unique floral knock-off tee or spring sweater refashion. These tutorials were hugely popular, and she is thrilled to bring you more. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with!

And then there’s me. I’m Amy from Mod Podge Rocks, also known as Mod Podge Amy. You are probably wondering what a decoupager like me is doing here. Well, most people don’t know that I have been sewing since I was 11 years old – it’s how I started my crafty journey. I own three sewing machines and have even been to a sewing boot camp (thanks mom). The only online proof of my sewing skills lies in a book review on Craft Critique, but I promise I can deliver. I enjoy interesting fashion items in bright colors, and I’ve decided that in 2012 I’m going to try to re-make what I have rather than buy. Let’s see what happens.

In addition to featuring our own tutorials, Jen and I will be sharing our favorite refashions from the web. We’ll be including some style tips and trends for the latest seasons. Our motto for this blog is simple – why buy it when you can refashion it? Thanks for joining us!
